Xavi not selected by Del Bosque

Xavi Hernàndez has not been named in Vicente del Bosque Spain team for European Championship games against Lithuania and Scotland. The FC Barcelona World Cup players were all included.

The Barça players in the 20-man squad are Valdés, Piqué, Puyol, Busquets, Iniesta, Pedro and Villa, who will play Euro 2012 qualifying matches against Lithuania in Salamanca on October 8, and then against Scotland in Glasgow four days later.

Other than Xavi being left out, the other big news is that Carles Puyol returns, after missing the trip to Argentina for a friendly due to a leg injury. That injury also meant he missed the opening league game of the season against Santander.
