Villa: "I’m glad to get started"

New striker David Villa spoke to reporters at Barcelona airport on his arrival back from Mexico and revealed that he’s looking forward to getting down to work as a Barça player.

David Villa is itching to get started. He told reporters at Barcelona airport on Thursday: “The holiday has been good but when you start something new you want to get going as soon as possible”.

A strange situation

Villa was asked about the fact that Barça’s Spanish internationals have already played for Spain before even reporting back to their club. He told us: “I expected the first training session to be held in different circumstances. We’re a bit tired by the journey but I’m keen to get started”.

The Spanish Super Cup

Asked if he felt ready to take part in Saturday’s Super Cup first leg, Villa admitted: “I don’t know. We’ve just come back from a very long journey. We’re tired. We start training today and we don’t make these decisions”.
