Iniesta determined to keep on improving

www.fcbarcelona.cat

Andrés Iniesta, who beat his own goal scoring record tonight when he chalked up his seventh of the league season, believes his best is still to come, declaring after the Racing game: “this year we’ll see the best of Iniesta”.

Iniesta was one of the key men in Barça’s win, as he has been in so many games in recent months and the Spanish midfielder admitted he was “happy” with his form and his goal scoring of late.

On target

I try and improve all the time and I hope that this is the year we see the best of Iniesta – you always have to try and better yourself”

Focus on the Cup

The team now turns its attention to the Cup, with this week’s game against Almeria coming up and Iniesta warned: “it’ll be a hard tie. We need to focus on doing things right to beat them and remember that we are just two games away from the final”.

Below are some of the other players’ post-match comments

David Villa

“We have to continue to be focussed on our own work, but if Madrid drop points, it’ll be easier for us”.

“We’re enjoying a good run of wins and that’s important. Let the fans come along and enjoy it!”

Adriano

“The game went the way we wanted it to and we scored early on”.

“Now we need to charge up our batteries for the Almeria game. We need to save our energies in order to put in a good performance”.

“I personally am beginning to get into the rhythm of the games and I hope to reach the level of my teammates”.
