Scene of first triumph

FC Barcelona return to the stadium where they won their first trophy with Pep Guardiola as head coach last season when they play in Valencia's Mestalla on Saturday evening.
The players always say that cup finals are the best games to play in and on May 13
the Blaugrana stars produced a great display to win the Copa del Rey against Athletic Club de
Bilbao.
First trophy
That triumph gave Guardiola his first success at the helm of Barça as
his side produced a display that was as good as any that they managed last term. Some finals are
tense and tight affairs, but not on that occasion as the fast, flowing football won the day.
Barça and Athletic had a litany of youth team products in their starting
sides with the Catalan outfit naming seven and three of the four goals came from those homegrown
stars as Lionel Messi, Bojan Krkic and Xavi all hit the net.
One home win
Valencia have not enjoyed great home this term as their only win in Mestalla this term came on the
opening day of the season when they beat fellow title hopefuls Sevilla. That is also the only game
that the Andalucian outfit have lost so far this term.
