Barca players in pre-World Cup friendlies

With the World Cup kicking off in less than three weeks’ time, Barca’s international players face a series of pre-Tournament friendlies with their national teams.


ESPANYA_ENTRENA_A_SAINT-DENIS.jpgThe eight Barca players in the Spanish team will play three games before they start their bid for the World Cup on June 16th. Spain will play against Saudi Arabia and South Korea in their Austrian training camp in Innsbruck, before saying farewell to the home fans with a game against Poland in Murcia.

Márquez and Dos Santos also set to play 3 games

Marquez and Jonathon Dos Santos are with Mexico, who have already got one friendly under their belt after losing to England on Monday and will face a further three games, facing Holland in Freiburg on Friday, Gambia in Bayreuth on May 30th and reigning champions Italy in Brussels on June 3rd.

Two games for Touré Yaya

yayatoures.jpgIvory Coast start their preparations with a game against Paraguay on May 30th in the French town of Thonon-Les-Bains, before going to Sion in Switzerland to play Japan on June 4th.

Three more for France too

531318.jpgThe French team will also play three games before travelling to South Africa. Henry and Abidal’s team face Costa Rica in Lens on Wednesday, before facing a local Tunisian team on May 30th and then returning to France to play China in their last warm up game.
Barca players in pre-World Cup friendlies
No more warm ups for Brazil and Argentina
Argentina’s win in Buenos Aires on Monday was their only pre-tournament friendly, whilst Brazil have completely foregone any warm up games. The Brazilian’s last game was against Ireland at Wembley in March.
