Puyol: “Cesc is perfect for Barca”

Speaking at the Spain training camp in Las Rozas, Barca captain Carles Puyol was full of praise for his Spanish teammate Cesc Fabregas and claimed: “he’s perfect for Barca”.

Carles Puyol and Cesc Fàbregas have been together with the Spanish squad since Monday as Del Bosque’s men prepare for the World Cup and the Barca captain made it clear that he’d be more than happy to extend their playing time together as speculation mounts over a move to the Nou Camp for the Arsenal midfielder.

Respect for Arsenal contract

Fàbregas is high on everyone’s wish list at the Nou Camp this summer and Puyol reckons: “he’s perfect for us”, whilst insisting that: “we have to respect his contract with his club, their fans and his teammates in London”.

Puyol revealed: “I’ve always seen him as an excellent player and a great friend. You’ll hardly ever see him get wound up. He’s a very calm guy. We’d all like to know what his future holds, but right now he has a contract with Arsenal and nobody knows what’s going to happen. It’s only normal though, that great players are connected to great clubs”.
