FCB-Inter: Did you know…

www.fcbarcelona.cat

There is plenty of trivia surrounding the big game between Barça and Inter Milan.

- Barça have lost the first leg of European ties by a score 3-1 on three occasions in the past. Twice they managed to go through in the end, against Dynamo Kiev (93/94) and Chelsea (5-1), but not against Real Madrid (1959/60).

- Inter have gone through 39 out of 43 times in Europe after winning the first leg at home.

- The three games between the Blaugrana and the Neroazzurri this season have seen everything: a Catalan win (2-0), a draw at the Giuseppe Meazza (0-0) and a Milanese win (3-1).

- Inter Milan have only lost one Champions League game by more than one goal this season – but that was in the group stages at the Camp Nou.

fcb-inter_x39x.JPG- This is Inter’s fifth visit to the Camp Nou. Apart from losing in November, they were stunned 4-0 in the Fairs Cup of 1958/59, gained revenge 1-2 in 1968/69 and lost again, 3-0, in the Champions League of 2002/03.

- Barça are aiming to be the first side to successfully defend the trophy in the Champions League era. Inter have not reached the European Cup final since 1972.

- This is the eleventh time Barça have made the semi finals, and they have won five and lost five.

-This is the fourth Champions League semi final in five years for Barça. In the other, against AC Milan, Manchester United and Chelsea, all of the matches at the Camp Nou ended 0-0.

- Gabriel and Diego Milito are set to face each other for the first time in Europe. Only three pairs of brothers have ever done likewise in this competition: the Edvaldsson (1974/75), the Koeman (1988) and the Riise (2009/10).

- Messi is the top goalscorer in the Champions League with eight. Against Arsenal, he became the sixth player to score four in one game in this tournament.

- The leader in assists this season is Sneijder, with five, tied with Gilardino and Arshavin.

- Puyol and Stankovic will both miss the game through suspension.

- Gerard Piqué and Dani Alves are both facing a possible suspension if they are booked tonight, as are Samuel, Maicon, Eto’o and Zanetti.
