Record number of goalscorers

Jesús Carrillo

After Touré scored against Deportivo, 16 players have been on target for the club this season, one more than in the treble winning campaign with 8 or 9 games still to go.

Barça’s goals have been coming from all departments this season. In al six competitions FC Barcelona have appeared in, 16 players have scored. Sergio Busquets is the only one of those who hasn’t scored in the League, but he was on target against Mexican outfit Atlante at the Clubs World Cup.

Newcomers

2010-02-20_PARTIDO_07.JPGIbrahimovic, Pedro, Thiago Alcántara and Jeffren have all scored their first goals for the club this season. Pedro, with 19 goals in all competitions has had the most surprising impact, the same tally as Ibrahimovic, in his first season at FCB. They are joint second behind the amazing record-breaking Leo Messi, who has scored 40 goals.

Well shared

2009-12-02_PARTIDO_25.JPGFor defenders have scored (Alves, Puyol, Piqué and Márquez), plus six midfielders (Xavi, Iniesta, Keita, Busquets, Thiago and Touré) and six strikers (the provisional Golden Boot winner Messi, Ibrahimovic, Henry, Pedro, Bojan and Jeffren). The only players not to have scored are, obviously, the two goalkeepers Valdés and Pinto, plus the full backs Abidal and Maxwell and centre backs Chygrinskiy and Milito. But anything could happen in the next 8 or 9 games.
Record number of goalscorers
Barça and Madrid, leaders in Europe
FC Barcelona and Real Madrid both have fifteen different players that have scored league goals this season. In comparison to some of the other big clubs in the major European leagues, Chelsea has 12 different players, as do Van Gaal’s Bayern and Barça’s next Champions League opponents Inter Milan. The other semi finalist in that competition, Lyon, have also got 15 goalscorers in their squad.
