Márquez: “I want to continue in this vein"

Jordi Clos

Rafa Márquez is looking to maintain the form he showed in El Molinon and reckons the team is: “hungry for titles”, whilst stressing that: “humility and sacrifice” will be key to continuing success.

Rafa Márquez was back in the starting 11 for the game against Sporting and speaking to the press this Tuesday he explained: “I felt pretty good and I am physically improved. I want to stay this way for the rest of the season”. The Mexican was quick to acknowledge the support he’d received during his recovery from injury : “the boss knows me well and he can see when I’m back on form. We’re close and when things aren’t going well, he tells me to my face”.

Team enjoying themselves

We know how our opponents are going to play and we all know our own system – that’s why we have so many clean sheets. The players are happy with the results we are getting and we are enjoying ourselves –this team is still hungry for titles and the key is humility and sacrifice”.

Ignore Madrid press

2010-02-02_ENTRENO_42.JPGRafa Márquez also warned the fans about the press campaign from Madrid about supposed reffing decisions in favour of eth Barca team: “we are all focussed on our job and we just take no notice of what’s being said outside. We don’t need any help from anybody. The players all know we are on the right track and we just ignore anything like this they say from Madrid”.
