Henry: “Playing in Bilbao is a challenge”

Thierry Henry believes that FC Barcelona’s next game against Athletic Club de Bilbao will be tough after the majority of players have returned from international duty.
After scoring three goals in his last two matches, one for Barça and two for France, the Blaugrana forward also explained that he is “very well, despite the fact that it is never easy to play in complicated games like those I had with the national team”.
Little preparation time
Looking ahead to the game on Sunday in San Mamés, Henry commented that he believes “it will not be easy to play after the international matches”. “Most of our players have been away and we have not been able to properly prepare like Athletic have done. Therefore winning will be complicated. Last year we struggled there and only managed a draw.”
Henry then compared the atmosphere in San Mamés to that of the Premier League. “It is an incredible atmosphere, but for me that is no problem because I am used to that from playing in England,” he explained.
Easy to play
Reflecting on the start to the season that Barça have made and the
postive run of form the team are enjoying, Henry said that he is enjoying himself. “When the
team plays well it is easier for everyone to play well. Whether Sergio Busquets, Touré Yaya or
Seydou Keita plays, the side does well. That is the most important thing,” he continued.
Anti-violence message
“The fans only need to encourage people without insulting anyone,” Henry then stated when asked about his beliefs on the anti-violence campaign. “A football match is a football match and nothing more.”

Iniesta not surprising
After seeing Andrés Iniesta’s fine effort for Spain against Belgium, Henry explained that
nothing the midfielder does surprises him after his display in the Champions League final two years
ago. “I already knew all about him when I joined Barça,” he said. “Iniesta was
the key player in that final in Paris, because when he came on Barça played better. His goal on
Wednesday does not surprise me because I see him do things like that in training quite often. He is
a player, like Xavi, that can do incredible things in the midfield.”
