19 players in the Mini-stadium

Berta Brau / Vanessa Forns

The first team continues its preparation for Saturday’s game against Racing. In this Thursday afternoon’s session Guardiola regained eight regulars having finished with their respective international obligations.

The Barcelona manager had 19 players at the training session that took place this Thursday afternoon in the Mini-stadium. Having regained the internationals Piqué, Pedro, Keita and Toure, it was now Puyol, Xavi, Bojan, Iniesta, Abidal, Hleb, Henry and Gudjohnsen. In total nineteen players from the first team, along with Sergio Busquets. Therefore, Messi, Márquez and Martín Cáceres are the only ones still to arrive.

Next, the Barcelona players did some stretching exercises, to then go on and do some circuit training. All the players present on the Mini-stadium’s pitch took part in these circuits with the exception of Puyol and Henry, who, instead of doing this exercise, trained separately

Double session on Friday
Pep Guardiola’s squad will have two preparatory training sessions this Friday. The first will take place at 10.30a.m. whilst the other will begin at 6.30p.m. In theory it is hoped that the Barça manager can count on the full squad, with the exception of Martín Cáceres who has had problems with his return flight from Montevideo. After the afternoon session, Guardiola will give a press conference and will announce the squad for Saturday’s game against Racing in the Camp Nou
