Keita: “The most important is to give your best on the pitch”

The Malian Seydou Keita is aware of the high expectations of the fans for the game against Wisla but has assured that what the team has to do is to give its all on the pitch.

The new Barcelona midfielder thinks the team is well prepared for the official debut on Wednesday and is confident that Barça will come away with a good result, but he also said “we have to be alert”.

If we always fight hard the people will understand that there are ups and downs. The most important is to do your best on the pitch”, explained Keita.

The ex-Seville player stands out for his strength and is convinced that for the fans to be proud of the team, the players have to try their hardest.

Quick preparation

Seydou Keita explained that the team has worked every aspect in the last three weeks of the pre-season: “The aim was to be as fast as possible, get as fit as we can and work on attack as well as defence”.

According to Keita a good example of the good work done in training can be seen in the pre-season friendly results. The team playing well is the most important for the Malian. “We’ve begun to prepare for the game and to get to know our rival, but most important is how we play”, said Keita.

Centre of midfield or inside left?
Seydou Keita is a midfielder who can play both centre of midfield and inside left. The journalists asked him which was his favourite position and if he was compatible with Touré Yayá: “In this team there is a lot of competition and the important thing is to play and do so well. I don’t mind which position I play. Touré and I have different qualities. I think we can play together without any problems. Anyway the boss will decide”.
