Iniesta: “It felt very good”

Iniesta, who is beginning to get back on form, said: “It was the first time I’ve played two games in a row since my injury and it felt very good in the position I played.”

On the Numancia game (4-1), Iniesta said “we created a lot of chances, apart from at the beginning when it seemed hard to get into the game. But with the players we have, everything is easier”.

Next Thursday, Barça face Espanyol in the second leg of their cup-tie. Iniesta thinks it will be “like a final, and it’s an opportunity to get to the semi-finals, we the support of our fans”.

Other players also commented on importance of the coming cup-tie, as well as the problems the wind caused during the game.

“In that wind, we had to play short passes, and that made it easier for them to block us, but the goals came in the end”.

“In a side like this there are lots of goal chances. My goal was thanks to Iniesta’s great pass. I should have done more, but it just wouldn’t happen”.

“I scored, but I missed other chances. Mistakes are mistakes, but I get angry with myself sometimes when I make hard work of what should be easy”.

“It’s an honour to be one of the club’s top goal-scorers. What matters most is to keep on winning”.

“In the first half, they defended deep, and we it was hard to crack them. Luckily we sorted it out in the second half”.

“We got better by moving faster and putting on the pressure and it was easier once we got the first goal”.

“You do what you need to for the team. In the build-up to the first goal, I just had to get the ball in the area. Luckily, after we made it 1-0, they opened up and we got more goals”.

“In Seville I made a lot of passes, and bit-by-bit I’m getting to their level”.

“The Espanyol game is another challenge. We’re counting on the fans support, so I hope they come along and it’ll be a great game”.
