Henry: “If we don’t win the league, records count for nothing”

On the day that Barça broke the record for the most points at the half way stage of the league, one of the goalscorers, Thierry Henry, pointed out that “If we don’t win the league, records count for nothing”.

The players were naturally delighted with the win against Deportivo (5-0), but also realise that there are still another 57 points to play for. “We haven’t won anything yet, but we are on the right track”, said the Frenchman, who scored a brace on Saturday night, making a total of 11 in the league this season.

As for the team’s attitude tonight, Henry made it clear that “we always go out to win, but you can always lose.”

The following are some of the comments made by the Barça players tonight:

Messi

“Records are good but we have to keep on winning and collecting points.”
“I am happy because things are going well. We have points and results.”

Eto'o

“I am happy with the win. We are still winning and scoring lost of goals and letting in few, and that matters.”
“Nothing is easy in life. We have to keep our feet on the ground, we have to carry on like that.”
