Jesús Carrillo / Vanessa Forns

The first team continued preparing for the cup clash with Atlético Madrid in the second-to-last session before the match. Guardiola had every player available apart from the injured Milito.

Barça had another morning session on Tuesday ahead of the cup game at the Camp Nou on Wednesday against Atlético Madrid. Sergio Busquets, Messi and Xavi were all back after missing training on Monday with minor injuries.

Recovery work for Víctor Sánchez

Training started at 11.00 am sharp in the Miniestadi, and started with all the usual warm-up drills. Víctor Sánchez, who last Thursday was diagnosed as having 0.5 cm of damage to the sartorial muscle in his right thigh, continued working in isolation as he recovers from injury.

Seirul·lo joins staff

Paco Seirul·lo, the first team fitness expert who is away working with the Spanish national handball team at the World Cup in Croatia, was at today’s session to assist Pep Guardiola. Following a pre-tournament training camp in Algesires, the Spanish team has been given a couple of days off. The side will then be expected to report to manager Valero Rivera in Madrid, from where they will fly out to Croatia on Thursday.
