Honours even at the Reyno de Navarra

Berta Brau

Games between FC Barcelona and Osasuna at the Reyno de Navarra have been extraordinarily evenly balanced affairs. The 30 games they have played in Pamplona have resulted in 10 home wins, 10 away wins and 10 draws.

Although these teams could not be further apart at the moment, with Barça the runaway league leaders and Osasuna down at the bottom, historically there is nothing to pick between the two. In fact, not only are there three points at stake, but also the chance to tip the all-time balance between them.

One goal more for Osasuna

web_04.jpgOsasuna may be floundering at the bottom right now with just 13 points from 17 games, but Barça will feel less encouraged by the historical atavistic for games at the Reyno de Navarra. In terms of wins and losses they have identical records, while when it comes to goals, the Navarrans have scored 37 times as opposed to one less, 36, for Barcelona.

Evenly matched in recent encounters

WEB_01.jpgIf we look just at more recent matches, we find this equality is an ongoing phenomenon. Since 2000/01, the last time Osasuna were promoted to the top flight, there have been two wins apiece and four draws, three of which were 0-0, which all goes to show just how strong the Navarrans can be when playing on their home turf.

Osasuna’s ten
Ten is very much the number when it comes to the history of games between Barça and Osasuna, yet the number also crops up when we look at what has been going on under Camacho. The side has won 10 of its points this year in games in Pamplona and they have also conceded that number of goals in games at the Reyno de Navarra.
