Pinto: “The key is our strength as a team”

Roger Bogunyà

José Manuel Pinto believes that one of FC Barcelona’s main assets is their strength as a team. “I think that it is fundamental that there is not set starting team,” he explained.

After starting against Atlético de Madrid in Vicente Calderón on Tuesday evening in the Copa del Rey, Pinto said that he felt team-work was key. “What has been seen and what is vital, aside from everyone’s quality, is the strength of the squad,” he stated.

Praising the coach

Pinto was full of praise for coach, Pep Guardiola, too. “The trainer is a person that pays great attention to detail,” he said. “We always go out with great focus and intensity.”

Playing to play

A good team-mate
Lionel Messi scored three goals against Atlético de Madrid and Pinto was full of praise for the Argentinian forward. “He is a great player and I think he has everything,” the keeper stated. “I also want to say that he is a great team-mate too and that is something that may not always be seen.” On the comparison between Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo, Pinto said that he does not have any preferences. “I do not like comparing players,” he stated. “Ronaldo and Messi are great players, but I am not going to evaluate if one or the other is better.”
