The curse of the woodwork

Marc Guillén

FC Barcelona are one of the sides that has hit the woodwork the most times this season, hitting the post on 11 occasions, with Henry and Bojan the most unfortunate.

Saturday at Montjuïc was just one more example, with both Xavi and Bojan hitting the upright.

Lack of fortune

It has been in the league where Barça have hit the worst luck, hitting the post more than any other side.
On 11, they are followed by Real Madrid on 7, while Atlético and Mallorca have five each. Espanyol have hit the post 3 times, Villarreal twice and Valencia just the once.

Henry and Bojan with 7 each

And Bojan Krkic may have scored 3 goals, but he has also hit the woodwork 3 times too, while Deco has also been frustrated by the post on two occasions.
The curse of the woodwork
6 points less for Barça

If we can fantasize about these things, if it hadn’t been for hitting the post, Barça could have six points more. In Santander, Barça drew 0-0, with Henry hitting the post five minutes from the end. At Valladolid, Bojan’s potential winner struck the woodwork, while last week Barça were held by Espanyol despite Bojan and Xavi both being frustrated by their efforts hitting the Montjuïc posts.
