Work continues at La Masia

Aleix Santacana / Vanessa Forns

While the game in Hong Kong was suspended due to the approaching typhoon, work continued at La Masia, with youth goalkeeper Marc Martínez’s presence the most commented event.

The players that went to the Copa America, Lionel Messi, Rafa Márquez and Gaby Milito were back training today, with the main plan being to get them up to the same level of fitness as their colleagues that are currently in Asia.

Gudjohnsen works separately

Eidur Gudjohnsen, who is having trouble with his left knee, is working in isolation. He started the day in the gym and finished the session on La Masia’s pitch with fitness experts.

Marc Martínez gets involved

But the most interesting sight was youth goalkeeper Marc Martínez joining the three first team players in training.

The players were asked to try shots with both feet. It was a valuable experience for Marc Martínez, and was the first time this week that the three first team players have taken shots on goal.
