Giovani proving to be a star

Giovani dos Santos is proving to be one of the major stars of the Under-20 World Championships in Canada as he has scored two goals in Mexico's opening two matches.

With one game left, the Mexicans have already assured themselves of a place in the next round and Dos Sants has been at the centre of his team's strong opening in the tournament. The Barça starlet has scored twice and showed his pace and ability as he attempts to prove to Frank Rijkaard that he is worth a place in next season's first squad at Camp Nou.

The second match also saw the youngster stand out as he again gave Mexico the lead, this time against Portugal. Having won a penalty, Dos Santos rose to tuck the spot-kick home in the 48th minute and set his team on their way to a 2-1 victory.
