Wednesday training

The first team squad was back in training on Wednesday evening to prepare for the last match of the season away to Murcia.


The players worked out at the Masía training grounds on Wednesday evening ahead of next Saturday’s final game – kick-off 10 pm in Murcia’s Nueva Condomina stadium. The following players were present: Valdés, Puyol, Xavi, Gudjohnsen, Iniesta, Eto'o, Pinto, Henry, Giovani, Ezquerro, Messi, Thuram, Abidal, Oleguer and Bojan, plus Barça B youngsters Fali and Rueda.

Guddy returns to full training

Gudjohnsen, who picked up a bruised right foot in last Wednesday’s game in the Bernabéu, was able to resume normal training on Wednesday.

Missing

QM3D0402.jpgApart from the players already on the injury list, Edmílson, Deco, Márquez and Zambrotta were also absent from the session and exercised in the gym. Edmílson has tendonitis in both knees while Deco, has a thigh strain. Meanwhile, Márquez is still suffering from an Achilles tendon problem, which also sidelined him from training on Monday, and Zambrotta has a slight right thigh strain.

Circuits and shooting practice

QM3D9879.jpgThe rest of the squad did the usual warm up exercises before dividing into three, and then two groups to do circuit training, finishing up with some shooting practice.

Training match

The session finished with a training match between Valdés, Giovani, Fali, Xavi, Puyol, Gudjohnsen, Abidal, Henry, Eto'o and Valdés (orange bibs) and Pinto, Albert Roca, Messi, Oleguer, Thuram, Bojan, Iniesta, Rueda and Ezquerro (without bibs).
Wednesday training
Iniesta, warm up and training match
Andrés Iniesta, who is carrying a problem to his left knee, went through the warm up exercises with his team-mates before separating off to work with one of the recovery coaches. He then joined up for with the rest of the group for the training match.
