Good home record

Jordi Clos

Barça has played its last match of the season at the Camp Nou. The team has won 20 out of its 29 home games in three competitions.

The 2-3 defeat to Mallorca was the 29th and last game of the season for Barça in the Camp Nou. The team’s record in the Champions League, League and Spanish Cup is 20 victories, 6 draws and 3 defeats. They have scored 60 goals and conceded 16.

Almost perfect in the Champions League

Barça went out in the semi-finals after having won five games at home and drawn only once, against Manchester United. Apart from playing magnificently, Rijkaard’s men also scored ten goals and let in just one.

From better to worse in the League

In the League, Barça had one of the best first halves to the season in its history at the Camp Nou with nine victories and just one defeat. The numbers got worse in the second half of the competition, especially towards the end. The overall balance is 14 wins, 2 draws and 3 defeats. The 46 goals the side scored are the second best home record in the First Division, and the 12 against the best defensive performance.

Camp Nou is key in the Cup

fcb-valencia_copa_gol1.jpgThe team went out of the Spanish Cup in the semi-finals. That they got so far was due in large part to the Camp Nou factor. After overcoming Alcoyano relatively easily, Barça then knocked out both Seville and Villarreal by getting the result they needed at home after drawing away. But the first leg of the semi-final clash with Valencia was played in Barcelona, and in spite of playing well and creating lots of chances, Barça could only draw 1-1 and went out after losing at Mestalla. Results in the Cup at home came to one victory and three draws.

Good home record
Valdés plays most
Víctor Valdés is the player who has turned out most times in games at the Camp Nou this season, having played in 26 of Barça’s 29 home matches. The keeper only missed one game in each competition: against Stuttgart in the Champions League, against Mallorca in the League, and against Alcoyano in the Cup.
