Practice match on Wednesday

www.fcbarcelona.cat

The absence of the internationals and no midweek match mean that club technical staff have drawn up a specific training plan for this week with the highlight being a practice match on Wednesday against Barça B.

After a month in which the first team has played two matches a week between the League and the Spanish Cup, things will ease off a bit over the next fortnight.

Tuesday, double session; Wednesday, match

After the victory against Osasuna, Frank Rijkaard has given his players this Monday off. The squad will be back training on Tuesday in a double session in the morning and the evening (11 am and 6 pm). 10 members of the squad will be missing on Tuesday and Wednesday as they will be leaving soon to join their national sides to play friendly matches.

For the rest of the Barça players the coaching staff have drawn up a practice game on Wednesday at 11.30 am in the Miniestadi against Barça B. As on previous occasions this season, the idea behind the game is to make sure that players who are used to playing every three or four days don’t lose match fitness.

Internationals back on Thursday

With the return of the internationals the whole team will be back training on Thursday starting at 6 pm to get ready for the match against Sevilla on Saturday. The final pre-game session will be behind closed doors at 11 am on Friday and Rijkaard will announce his squad later on. That afternoon Barça will travel to Seville where on Saturday at 10 pm they will play in the Sánchez Pizjuán.
