David Puig

Barça and Sevilla have met ten times in the Cup and Barça has come out on top on seven occasions. The last meeting was in the 1990-91 season.

This will be the eleventh time the two clubs have met in the Cup though since it was renamed the Kings Cup they have only faced each other once – in the quarterfinals of the 1990-91 season. Barça, coached by Johan Cruyff, won the tie easily on aggregate 7-0.

Finally, while the competition carried the name of ‘Copa Alfonso XII’, Barça eliminated Sevilla in the 1918-19, 1921-22 and 1928-29 seasons.
