Unanimous Board decision

QM3D5604.jpgThe naming of Johan Cruyff as Honorary President was agreed unanimously at a board meeting eight days ago after being proposed by President Joan Laporta. Article 16 of the club’s statutes forms the basis for the decision - the same article was used to give Joan Gamper club membership number 1 –and Corporate Director General Joan Oliver justified the decision as: “acknowledging his contribution as a player, a manager and the inspiration, the “father” of our success in 2009”.

Key to the club’s history
Johan Cruyff marked a milestone in the club’s history. The three times European Player of the Year was a versatile, fast and skilful player, who transferred his leadership qualities on the pitch to the manager’s office where he led the Dream Team to four consecutive league titles and their first European Cup. And it was all done in style!
