Antonio Banderas: “Barça is unstoppable”

Hollywood star Antonio Banderas watched the Barça v Sevilla match from the Directors’ Box of the Camp Nou and was highly impressed by Andrés Iniesta in particular and the Barça team in general. He told us. “Barça is unstoppable”.


The Malaga born actor, who now lives in the United States, was present in the Camp Nou on Wednesday evening to watch the match against Sevilla. Before kick-off he had a brief meeting with Club president Joan Laporta, who presented him with a Barça shirt bearing the actor’s name.

Later, Antonio Banderas spoke to Barça TV and said that Barça had a good chance of winning all three competitions – League, Cup and Champions League: “I can see Barça as champion in all three competitions. They’re unstoppable and I will risk saying they will win the three titles”.

Praise for Iniesta

He’s surprising everyone. Whichever team you support you have to take your hat off to Barça. They’re making us enjoy the season and they’ll give the fans a lot of pleasure”.

Writers in the stadium
Apart from Antonio Banderas and Spanish pop stars Estopa, the 11 writers of ‘Lletres al Camp’ were also in the Directors’ Box after their meeting with Joan Laporta in the Trophy Room. This is the fifth edition of an initiative that aims to encourage reading and is part of an agreement between the FC Barcelona Foundation and the Institució de les Lletres Catalanes. All the fans in the stadium received a booklet with works by the award winning writers.
