Massive deployment to Manchester

www.fcbarcelona.cat

Almost 4,000 ‘culés’ will be at Old Trafford on Tuesday to cheer on the team in the return leg of the Champions League semi-final against Manchester.

Frank Rijkaard’s men won’t be alone in the Theatre of Dreams. They will have the unconditional support of 3,686 ‘culés’, who will help them face the most important match of this season.

The majority of fans on Tuesday

The official FC Barcelona agency, RACC Viatges, has organised seven charter flights for the same day of the game. The planes will leave El Prat airport between 8 and 10 in the morning and will transport 1172 fans. The official programme of RACC includes transfer by coach to the city centre and then on to Old Trafford stadium. Once the game is over, the seven planes will return to Barcelona the same night. This option has a price of 380€ for members and 400€ for non-members (match tickets are not included)

Most people opt for the plane

The first fans to land in Manchester on Monday will find themselves with other ‘culés’ who will have travelled on their own account. British Airways and Iberia will be jointly offering daily flights to Manchester (with a stopover in London), and Air France does the same route via Paris. The low-cost companies will also take fans to England. Monarch, Ryanair and Easyjet will fly between Monday and Wednesday, to Manchester and Liverpool.

2,359 members at Old Trafford

At 8.45p.m. on Tuesday night, there will be 2,359 Barça club members sitting behind one of the goals in Old Trafford. They are all the lucky winners of the draw made on the 14th of April after the flood of requests for tickets for this game. Remember that members ordered 4,687 tickets but the club only had 2,359 allocated to them. The Barça fanclubs (590) and the sponsors and club compromises (737) also received their usual quota of tickets.

Massive deployment to Manchester
Record this season
The deployment to Manchester will be the biggest this season. The previous record was the away leg of the fourth round of the Champions League, played at Celtic Park. That day 1,900 ‘culés’ went to Scotland. In the quarter-final against Schalke 04, the figure was 1,400, and now in this second leg 3,686 ‘culés’ will turn up`. The drive and strength of the Barça crowd will be minimum in order to be in Moscow for the final on the 21st of May.
