Lorbek and Morris analyse CSKA

Cristina Collado

This time last year, Barca lost to CSKA in the semis and Erazem Lorbek and Terence Morris were both in the Moscow team’s squad. Now they are back in the same game – but wearing Barca’s colours.

Erazem Lorbek and Terence Morris both played for Barca’s semi-final opponents CSKA last year and although the Russian team have rung the changes, they both reckon the danger will still come from CSKA’s counter attacking and their great European experience.

Experience key

Lorbek reckons that CSKA’s experience could be key after appearing in the last seven Final Fours and reaching the last four finals: “they have played a lot of Final Fours and won titles. I think their principal threat comes from that experience in playing in these big tournaments”.

Danger men

Lorbeck also warned that two players in particular could make the difference: “Siskauskas and Khryapa”, Whislt Morris added,”they also have a great shooter in Langdom, there’s Holden too…. The list could go on. You shouldn’t focus on any one player in such a good team, you have to focus on them all”.

More attack

Lorbeck did point up one change in style though: “I think they are quicker, especially on the counter and they are shooting more. I think they are more dependent on their attack this season”.

Morris, three F4s with three different teams
For Terence Morris, this will be his third F4 on the trot, though he has yet to win the title. Two years ago he lost with Maccabi and last time with CSKA: “I’ve been fortunate enough to get to the finals and hopefully, we’ll be there again this time round – each year I’m getting closer to winning!”
