Pascual: “a good win”

www.fcbarcelona.cat

Regal Barça had to work hard against the second best defence in the ACB and nobody was surprised at the way the game went – a battle of attrition won by a focussed display from the ACB leaders.

“We’re happy to have won at a difficult place”, commented Xavi Pascual in his post match press conference, “it was close in every quarter and we couldn’t build a lead – it’s a good win and we’ll take it, especially considering the hard month we’ve had”.

Below are the coach’s `post match comments:

“It’s true that Kirksay gives them a great balance in the rebound, recovering the ball and under the basket, but today Douglas had a great game in his position and allowed them to open the court up”

“I thought it would be a tough game, as it was, but we could have had a bigger lead if we’d been better with our exterior throws”

“I thought we had the game under control in the second part”.

“This game was different from the cup match because this time we didn’t have to come from behind”.

Navarro is back
Juan Carlos Navarro found it hard to get into his attacking stride, though he did do well in defence. He finished as the game’s second highest points scorer on 18, with 7 in the decisive fourth quarter and the Barca coach gave his views on the Barca number 11’s contribution
“Everybody goes through ups and downs during the season, but today he was decisive and worked really well in defence. I’m very happy with him”.
