Creus says Xavi Pascual is to stay

Jordi Clos

Barça’s new director of basketball has announced that the club has agreed basic terms with Xavi Pascual for him to stay on as AXA FC Barcelona coach over the next two seasons.

Xavier Pascual has been chosen by AXA Barça to manage the basketball first team. The decision was announced by the club’s new director of basketball Joan Creus at his introductory press conference. “We’ve agreed basic terms with Xavi Pascual for two years because we think that since February the side has improved significantly and he has shown he can do the job,” Creus said.

The right man

Board are very happy

Chairman Joan Laporta and basketball section head Josep Cubells introduced Joan Creus in the Camp Nou press room and spoke about the choice of Xavi Pascual. “The board is especially happy that Creus believes Pascual is the best choice,” said Laporta, while Cubells also publicly supported the decision of the new director of basketball.
