Younger players third in Catalonia
The infantil team, the youngest at Barça, had a fairly decent year. Under Ricard Muñoz they topped the regular season and Preferente category tables. In the Catalan Championship, they lost in the semi finals to Caldes, and ended up third. This meant they missed out on the chance to play in the Spanish Championship and defend the title they won the season before.

Youth hockey does well

If the roller hockey first team had an excellent season, FC Barcelona also had a wonderful year at youth levels.

One Catalan championship, one Spanish championship and two runners-up positions in the 2006-07 season suggest that Barça’s youth structure is working well and producing plenty of promising talent.

Looking at the other roller hockey teams, we begin with the adult B team, made up of junior players and just two adults who still managed an impressive fifth place in their league. The main objective of the reserve team, coached by Àlex Segura, is to train new players and get them used to high level competition. Most of the players got their first team debuts under Quim Paüls last year in official first team matches.

Junior: only missed out on Spanish Championship

The junior team, coached by Eduard Castro, came first in the regular season and first in the Preferente category, a competition that qualified them for the Catalan Championship. In this competition, they topped their group and went on to win the championship. In the Spanish Championship the juniors were out of luck and missed out on the title to Liceo, 3-2.

Juvenil, Spanish champions

The ‘juvenil’ team came second in the regular season and Preferente category. In the Catalan Championship, the team coached by Joan Manel González lost the final to Tordera, 3-1, but still qualified for the Spanish Championship. It was in that tournament that they produced their best hockey to win the title, beating Alcobendas in the final 4-3.
