The juniors also made the trip to Granada, beating Benicarló and ElPozo in the quarterfinals and semi-finals respectively, and meeting Lobelle in the final. After a tense and even game – full time finished in a 5-5 draw - extra time remained goalless and the match went to a penalty shootout, which ended 3-0 in favour of Lobelle Santiago.

Mobicat seeded in Cup

Barça Mobicat finished the first half of the league programme in third place and were seeded for the Cup. After beating Benicarló in the quarterfinals they were eliminated by ElPozo in the semis.

Granada hosted the 20th edition of the Spanish Futsal Cup, which FC Barcelona played for the first time. The best eight teams in the Honour Division competed for the trophy which was eventually lifted by Inter Movistar, who beat ElPozo Murcia in the final 3-5.

A win over Benicarló in the quarterfinals

Fernandao_Vs_Benicarlo.jpgBarça Mobicat reached the semi-finals after defeating Benicarló Aeroport Castelló. The first half was goalless but Fernandao broke the deadlock after the break. Isco pulled his side level only for Carlos Muñoz to put Barça back into the lead. However, Benicarló equalised again.

With the score standing at 2-2, Benicarló were awarded a double penalty and Dani Salgado put Benicarló ahead for the first time. Javi Rodríguez equalised for Barça Mobicat and then with 38 seconds left on the clock Fernandao made it 4-3. Igor scored another to finish the match 5-3.

Eliminated by ElPozo

LT4Y3132.jpgNext up after the much enjoyed win over Benicarló was reining champion ElPozo Murcia. In a balanced game, ElPozo made their experience count and top scorer Wilde put them ahead after eight minutes but a combination of luck, the woodwork and a good performance from Cristian prevented them from increasing their lead.

Fernandao equalised some four and a half minutes before the end and at full time the score stood at 1-1

In extra time the sixth foul was decisive and Vinicius took the double penalty to make it 2-1 for ElPozo.
