The Palau in ‘All Colours’

‘All Colours’ tournament organised by the Fundació FC Barcelona played out its final stages in the Palau Blaugrana. This futsal competition is all part of an integration and coexistence project.
The activities in the Palau Blaugrana started this Saturday at 9.15 with the preliminary matches,
which took all morning and then at 15.45 the semi finals were played, followed at 17.30 by the
long-awaited final, which featured Barcelona and Calafell.
The final stages of the tournament, which forms part of the Sport and
Citizenship section of the Foundation, brought to the Palau twelve teams of players aged eleven and
twelve from different Catalan towns and cities. The teams had to meet a series of requirements:
they all had to be made up of players of at least three different nationalities, two to four
members had to be Spanish nationals, and each team had to include at least two girls.
These requirements were included in the competition’s rules to ensure that the teams
were coherent with the objections for social cohesion and gender equality that the competition
promotes.
Activity inside and outside the Palau
In the football pitch next to the Palau a huge inflatable goal was
installed where the players in the tournament were able to hone their skills. The Foundation once
again turned the competition into a veritable festival outside the gates of the Palau. All of the
children were invited to take a tour of the Camp Nou and Museum and to enjoy a picnic with their
families.
‘All Colours’ is a tournament in which everybody is a winner, and all the
participants left with loads of free gifts. The most important thing was not to win on the Palau
court, but to play a role in social cohesion and coexistence, a challenge that was met in champion
style.
