Two-goal comeback repeated (2-2)
Aida Soriano
FC Barcelona's B team came from two goals behind for the second time in five days to earn a point against Albacete in the Carlos Belmonte stadium thanks to goals from Nolito and Jonathan Soriano.
Luis Enrique's side fought back against
Real Betis
in midweek and were forced to the same on Sunday afternoon after they conceded twice in
their Segunda A encounter against the Queso Mecánico. The Blaugrana showed great resilience once
more and the point ensured that they remained in fourth place in the table behind Betis, Rayo
Vallecano and Celta de Vigo.
Bright start
After the encouraging display at Betis in the rearranged match on
Wednesday, Barça B began the game with confidence and Sergi Roberto had a clear chance to berak the
deadlock after just five minute, but his effort hit the post. Martí Riverola was also a menace to
the hosts' back line, but he was unable to carve out anything for himself or test the Albacete
goalkeeper Keylor Navas.
Opening goal
Jordi Masip was called into action after 20 minutes when Lerma tried his luck, but
there did not appear to be much danger of the home team scoring. That was until the Blaugrana let
their guard down with half an hour gone and Albacete took advantage of a corner for Asen to open
the scoring when he was set up by Fragoso.
Sitting back
With the lead secured the home team sat back and looked to break on the
counter-attack and that allowed Barça to search for an equaliser. Again Sergi Roberto was lively as
he had an effort turned away for a corner befoer Oriol Romeu also took aim.
Two down
After the break things did not start well for the visitors and Albacete were able
to double their lead and set themselves up to claim all three points. Just six minutes in and Tato
netted to make it 2-0 and it could easily have been three but Masip was relieved to see the next
shot that came his way strike the woodwork and bounce clear.
Bouncing back
Three changes were made by Luis Erique and the fresh legs lifted the side ith
Víctor Vázquez taking a shot shortly after Tato had again gone close at the other end. In minute 68
Nolito showed why he is confident he can make it at Camp Nou when he met Saúl Berjón's centre at
the first time of asking to beat the keeper.
Drawing level
Five minutes later and Barça were level as Soriano was picked out in
the middle by Nolito and his effort beat Navas and saw a repeat of the celebrations witnessed
against Betis in the Estadio Benito Villamarín. Nolito and Montoya had chances to win the match
before the end, but a share of the spoils was accepted by both teams.
