Bojan heading for personal best

Sandra Sarmiento

Bojan’s goal against Tenerife took his total for the season to 11, one more than last season and just one short of his tally for his first season with the senior squad.

He scored his first goal in October 2007 in Villarreal and has gone from strength to strength since then. Once again against Tenerife he scored another vital goal.

The goals keep coming

In the 2007-08 season, Bojan scored a total of 12 goals. Last season this figure dipped slightly to 11. Now, with just two games left to play, Bojan has managed 11 goals in 14 starts – a scoring rate few strikers can claim.

Two consecutive matches

FCB_-_TENERIFE_x33x.jpgOn Tuesday evening, Bojan made the starting line-up in his second consecutive match for the third time this season. He appeared against Athletic Club Bilbao in the Camp Nou and then against Arsenal. He did the same in the Cup match against Sevilla at the beginning of January and in the 0-5 defeat of Tenerife. However, this is the first time he has scored in two consecutive matches this season. He’s also made the starting line-up in 4 of the last 7 match.

Bojan number four

Despite not being a fixture in the starting line-up, Bojan is 4th in the ranking of Barca goal scorers behind Messi (44), Ibrahimovic and Pedro (21).

Bojan TV interview
Immediately after the Tenerife game, Bojan gave an interview on Barca TV: “We weren’t creating chances. Our first goal calmed our nerves and gave us a boost. I remember all the goals I score but you obviously remember a goal like that one even more. Goals like that help you progress. When you play and things go well you feel important. Sometimes when you’re not playing much it’s difficult to get into the game but it’s all a learning process”.
