A Senegalese government delegation has visited the Senegal XICS centre at Richard Toll. The officials have praised the effectiveness of the project.

The ‘Summer Caravan’ project, sponsored by the Senegalese government, means that every summer a delegation from the country’s Ministry of Youth and Employment visits a project for children and young people in each Senegalese province. This year the project chosen in St. Louis province in the north has been the XICS centre in Richard Toll which is sponsored by the FC Barcelona Foundation.

Met by the education team

The education team at the centre, led by its project coordinator, received the Minster accompanied by some 300 guests, all beneficiaries of the XICS, and their families.

Excellent project

Lamine visited the centre’s facilities including classrooms, dining halls, workshops and washrooms. The meeting, which was covered by the country’s leading media outlets, ended with a small party on the sports court attended by the local Richard Toll handball team which regularly trains there. The Minister, who praised the quality of the facilities and the effectiveness of the project, said that the government has set up three centres in the country inspired by this XICS centre.
