Barça appear on US TV

FC Barcelona’s presentation of a report at the United Nations headquarters in New York has attracted the attention of the North American media.

Barça’s active role in the fight against Aids led the club to be invited to appear in New York on Monday and present the findings of its ‘Children and AIDS: Third Stocktaking Report’. As a result, the club has also appeared in several of the major audiovisual media in the United States.

Interviews on CNN, FOX and ESPN

Channels of such importance as CNN, FOX and ESPN, among others, have interviewed president Joan Laporta in relation to the corporate social responsibility that the club has become such a fine exponent of, but also to discover more about what is happening at the club and the meaning of being “more than a club in the world”.

Joan Laporta gave two interviews to CNN: one in Spanish and another in English. The English version will be shown on the ‘World Sport’ show, which goes out on the American channel every two hours. This Tuesday’s bulletin included a report on the club’s commitment to the fight against Aids, while a second instalment to be broadcast on Wednesday will look more at the club in a sporting sense, while also explaining what makes FCB so unique.

The Spanish version will be shown on Tuesday as part of CNN’s Spanish language sports show, which is constantly being repeated on the network.

Another of the major networks to have shown an interest in the club and that spoke to the president was FOX, also in two languages. The Spanish language version will be shown on ‘Diario Fox Sports’ in the US and Mexico, and on ‘Fox Sports Noticias’ for South America.

The English language version will be shown on Fox’s specific sports channel, which often broadcasts Spanish and English league games.
